This print is part of The Salt & Sea series highlighting Gene Rogovitz's pen and ink style. This line was meant to capture the essence of the ocean and it's many counterparts. The Octopus, in all it's oddities, rises like a majestic lion of the sea. Like the Jellyfish, I was not loving the process of creation as it had deviated from my original vision. At some point, it twists and turns and maybe we get lucky, and maybe what was meant to be did be. This octopus and I are now tight. He was even an usher at my wedding.
